This
year the Envirofiesta Fashion Parade
is going to be huge!
The
time is approaching when the Cairns and Far North Environment
Centre (CAFNEC) will once again be staging its annual fundraising
event, ‘Envirofiesta’. Envirofiesta 2002 is planned to October 12th in the Cairns region
for the 15th year.

Envirofiesta 2002 Recycled Fashion Parade
Designers
One of the Environfiesta’s most celebrated
highlights is the Recycled Fashion Parade, where innovative
and environmentally inspired designs are exhibited on the
catwalk as the climax of the day’s entertainment.
Last
year’s Recycled Fashion Parade was unquestionably a glamorous
achievement for all involved. Funky and innovative designs
graced the catwalk, from the cutting edge of modern fashion
design to vogue from the past, to the entirely surreal and
outrageous. For example, manga style warrior outfits made
from inner tubing and tyres, to plastic cowgirls, tropical princess in coconut fibre
and proud peacocks. This combined with original, charismatic,
sometimes provocative and occasionally hilarious choreography
resulted in an fashion extravaganza!This year the fantasia
continues. We would like to invite you to become involved
in this years Recycled Fashion Parade. Fashion has no boundaries,
we implore you to get creative, to get funky and to get involved
by demonstrating what can be achieved from using recycled
materials and validate the ideal of environmentally aware
fashion.Stretch your imagination in potential recyclable materials
to create truly unique and outstanding art wether it be wearable
on the street or only on the catwalk. Start creating and be
prepared for rehearsals beginning late August. Your participation
will be greatly appreciated and will undeniably assist in
ensuring the success of the Recycled Fashion Parade
and Envirofiesta as a whole in 2002.
If
you've got an interest in design, modelling or choreography
we
want your help, last year we had heaps of keen volunteers
who all
had a great time, both at rehearsals and on the day.
