OLIVE (New York) DJ
Olive's activities as a musician, artist and dj spread a wide
range of approaches. Over the past decade he has christened
musical movements, such as Illbient (which resulted from a
joke remark), he's improvised as a turntablist with many groups
- including his ongoing collaboration with Kim Gordon, Ikue
Mori and Jim O'Rourke (released on Sonic Youth Records) and
he has also been responsible for producing some of the most
engaging free flowing beats that mesh together the moods of
dancehall, hip-hop, latin groove, breakbeat and dub. He runs
two labels, theAgriculture and Phonomena (with Toshio Kijiwara),
which both explore different facets of his musical taste and
interest. His debut long player Bodega, will be released on
theAgriculture this September.

TAYLOR (BYRON BAY)

around Australia, including a residency at Edgecores' "Fresh
As" at the Carpark nightclub in Byron Bay.He also has

planned in Japan & South America for the first half of

which releases innovative electronic dance music and she writes/produces

I/O
(BRISBANE) is a sound project by Brisbane based producer
and artist Lawrence English. Bringing together his interest
in field recordings, ambient textures and subtle rhythm, I/O's
music is deep and drifting - with a focus on the music's organic
elements (which are then processed digitally) as the basis
for the pieces. I/O sets have taken many forms, from 5 hour
long presentations in galleries to intimate cafe laptop sets
that see the music take a far more 'atmospheric' role. For
Earthdance, I/O will be offering some much needed ambience,
lowering the bpm level and allowing the bodies present to
recouperate in a warm, gentle sound bubble.
